AKUMCHA MICHAEL is my name; I am an actor, a model and a model trainer. I started my carrier in the Cameroon entertainment industry as a model. This was way back in high school when i got encouraged by many friends, who told me i had all what it took to be a great model. So i indulged into modeling through talent promoting organization that was created at that time called ARABIAN NITE of which i eventually won the masters competition of the grand finale that was organized at the Bamenda congress hall 2009. This sprung my modeling carrier into winning other competitions such as Mr. Campus celebrity 2010. when i got to the university, my experience in the model world let me to found and create the DIAMOND MODELING AGENCY where i managed, scouted and trained youths both boys and girls who were aspired to become models.
In my time at DIAMOND MODELING AGENCY, i worked with numerous designers such PARTERNS HOME DESIGNS, NUVI CREATIVE and Cameroon’s Hollywood based designer Kibone.
Modeling gave me audience with film makers which open the door for me to explore my true heart desires which was acting. I got casted to play ”Roy” in the TV series RUMBLE which was my first movie. The opportunity given to me by Mr. Billy Bob only prepared me for tougher challenges and rolls that were still to come. I played the roll ”Pierre” in the TV series SAMBA and featured in many other films. I was called to play the roll of a young French man ” Mr. Bruno” in the TV series BAD ANGEL which has been my biggest so far in my acting carrier. It was an amazing and challenging roll to play as i had to speak with a French accent for the entire series. Also i learnt so much from the director Mr Tanwie Elvis ”De Dadies” whom together we continued with the vision of Na level Empire.
Currently I am the Project Manager of the Na Level Empire and head of the Fashion Department where i scout, trainer, manage and choreograph all the Na Level Fashion Events. As a choreographer, I’ve worked with the south west regional delegation of arts and culture twice in designing the limbe FESTAC carnival parade. I’ve also managed and designed a good number of fashion show (runway events). I can only thank GOD for my achievement so far and look forward to what plans GOD holds for me in the future!
